Strengthening Altadena Through Leadership
The Rose City Sigmas Foundation traces its origins to 2007, when it began as a mentoring initiative serving at-risk male youth in Pasadena. Operating through 2011 across four of the city’s six high schools, the program supported more than 75 young men, all of whom graduated from high school. More than 40 participants went on to attend college, earn bachelor’s degrees or higher, and/or build stable, productive lives.
Rebuilding and Revitalizing Altadena
In the aftermath of the Altadena fires, former participants and community members recognized a renewed need for support, guidance, and unity. Inspired by the impact of the original program, they came together to reactivate this work through the Foundation, with a shared commitment to rebuilding Altadena through long-term investment in people, families, and community stability.
Community Stability and Support
Strong communities are built through consistent support systems, trusted relationships, and meaningful access to opportunity. The Foundation works to strengthen families and reinforce community stability through initiatives that promote resilience, accountability, connection, and long-term growth, not temporary relief.
Mentorship and Leadership Development
Mentorship remains central to our mission. Through structured guidance, leadership development, and targeted support, the Foundation equips young people with the tools to grow academically, personally, and civically. Our goal is to help prepare the next generation to lead with integrity and contribute meaningfully to their communities.
